Twas 4 days before Halloween and all through the Internet were pictures and postings of our favorite bloggers in their chic handmade Halloween costumes. The minute we saw these we couldn't resist but to share the inspiration.
We put together the perfect roundup of these fashionistas that can help you when styling your own Halloween costume.
Lindsey Ellingson (@lindsellingson), CoFounder and Creative Director of Wander Beauty took us back to 1978 with her fashion spin on Sandy from Grease. Everything from the hair all the way down to the feet made us double take. She looks just like Olivia Newton-John when she filmed in the movie.
How many of you remember when this picture exploded on the internet in 2014? Thanks to Dani Song (@songdani) and Tania Sarin (@tania_sarin) we have this amazing Kanye West and Kim Kardashian costume inspiration. You can easily put together this costume with clothing pieces you already have!
What costumes will you be recreating?
the top 3 music inspired diy halloween costumes of 2015
It's almost that time of year where we all put together some sort of eye catching costume that will make a party statement. Have you figured out yours yet? If not, don't worry you still have some time and we have just the ideas that you might have been looking for.
Remember, Halloween is a time to be creative so I suggest you put away the brooms, hats, and fairy dust and start thinking about a more "stylish" Halloween costume.
There are over thousands of costume ideas to choose from. The most popular costumes are the DIY ones that only take a couple of minutes to hours to make. You can be anything from a crayon, windup doll, Christmas tree and even Brittney Spears.
As you may know, Electric Picks is inspired by music, so it's only right for us to provide you with music culture inspired Halloween costumes. Since there were so many big moments in pop culture this year we're going to provide you with some of the most double tapped talked about moments and outfits that people won't have to ask you, "what are you this year?"
The number one Halloween costume idea according to Cosmo is the queen bee, Beyoncé's outfit in 7/11. She really made a statement with her KALE sweat shirt, leopard shorts, and knee pads. Cosmopolitan also provided where we can go to purchase these items.
A great addition to this outfit is Electric Picks Hashtag Necklace.
Kale Sweatshirt in Navy, SUBURBAN RIOT, $64; Lola Leopard Shortie Short, WET SEAL, $7; Nike Streak Volleyball Knee Pads, NIKE, $25 Hashtag Necklace, ELECTRIC PICKS , $75
If being Madonna for Halloween isn't number one on your wish list I'm not sure who is. There are so many styles Madonna has rocked over the years. One of her looks that really stood out is her 80's look. All you need to style this look is a Black Tanktop, a Black Fishnet cover up, a leather mini skirt, black fishnet leggings, some black booties, cross earrings, the teased un tamed hair, and of course lots and lots of bracelets.
To complete this look incorporating some of Electric Picks custom made bracelets is a great addition. For instance the Fire & Rain 3 Piece Bracelet Set, and the Chelsea Dagger Black Cuff will make this look complete.
Last, but certainly not least, Taylor Swifts Bad Blood Music Video outfit is the number one trending costume for groups! All you need to do is just channel your inner Taylor Swift and your costume will be made in no time.
All you have to do is get black shorts, and try to find a similiar piece underneath where you can get from an exotic bikini store from a
clubwear store that's all rocked over a pair of nude nylons. Now according to Brit + Co, in order to create the shirt your going to have to slice the cutouts in a black sleeved crop top using a pair of fabric sheers. The silver harness is made from hot gluing metallic ribbon together (easy peasy!). Not many of us own thigh high leather boots, so a good way to fake it is to grab a pair of these thigh high leather socks from a clubwear store and wear your favorite black heeled booties over them. Even if you don’t have blonde hair, a dark red lip seals the deal. To finalize this look Electric Picks Shooting Star Ear Crawler and the Chains of Love Womens Bracelet will do the trick— you’re the leader of this pack.
If you weren't ready for Halloween, We hope you are now!
THE BEST OF PARIS FASHION WEEK
Paris Fashion Week 2015 has come to an end but the trends presented will last throughout the year. So many collections stood out from Chanel to Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Maison Margiela. Many of these designers unlocked creativity and presented new and second-hand ideas. According to Harper's Bazaar editor-in-chief Justine Picardie, the French brands are showing a renewed "emphasis on the handcrafted; things that are real, things that are made by human hands, that are touched by human hands and emotion.” The approach to present each design was done through Instagram-friendly sets and stunts with ready-made hashtags.
Louis Vuitton unexpectedly brought digital punk to the Paris Catwalk and we’re not complaining. This fashion collection is being called “the frontier of the digital world.” Designer Nicolas Ghesquiere, who has led a renaissance of the brand known for its monogrammed leather bags, started the show with a bubble gum pink biker jacket worn with a patterned black skirt and chunky black flatform sandals.
